Aimless Imitation Chair Stealing Game (Part 1) is the ninth chapter of the Shuuen no Shiori Manga. It is the start of the Aimless Imitation Chair Stealing Game story, and focuses on D-ne's motivations for joining the Occult Club.
Summary[]
D-ne remembers a doll she had during her childhood named "Ririka". She idealised the doll heavily, and would try to emulate her, until she realised she could never become Ririka. D-ne refers to this incident as "the story of [her] first love, and a memory of heartbreak".
After D-ne enters high school, she muses on the idea of falling in love but none of the boys interest her. She then recalls the day she met B-ko - the two of them had met while cleaning up the litter around the school gate. D-ne falls in love with B-ko at first sight, and she becomes D-ne's new ideal.
D-ne is afraid of getting too close to B-ko, though, because she is afraid that such an ideal person is too "far" from her, especially after her inability to become close enough to Ririka. This continues until rumours start spreading about B-ko, and D-ne follows B-ko to the old school building and sees her tell A-ya off for spreading another rumour about her. Seeing a new side to B-ko, D-ne falls even more in love with her, believing that her display of emotion made her more real than Ririka. She promises to keep their encounter a secret, though she asks to join the group, seeing it as an opportunity to get closer to B-ko.
Despite not having any interest in the occult, D-ne finds the meetings both enjoyable due to getting to talk to B-ko, and irritating due to having to deal with A-ya and C-ta.
