B-ko (B子) is one of the main characters of the story. She had her debut in the song Impostor Advisory.

Appearance[]

B-ko has short, pretty and well-maintained brown hair and purple eyes (light brown in the novels), which are said to draw people in just by looking at them. On the left side of her hair, she wears a red ribbon. In addition, she is the smallest of the four main characters.

She usually wears her school uniform - a white collared button up shirt with a V-neck mustard-colored sweater over it, alongside a red and white tie. Over them she wears a beige blazer with red trims, decorated with six red buttons on the lower right side and her school emblem on the left breast of the blazer. She wears a red and black plaid skirt and black knee high socks, and unlike the other characters, she wears an interesting custom pair of shoes - white lace up ankle boots with red bootlaces and sole, alongside red and white polka-dotted collars.

Personality[]

B-ko is said to be the most popular and beautiful girl in their school, excelling in both her studies and sports. To almost everyone, she appears nice, humble, cute and cheerful. However, in reality, she is aggressive, foul-mouthed and loud - a side of hers that aside from herself, only three of her friends know.[3]

One of the reasons for this front is because when she was younger, she constantly had to transfer to various schools, presumably because of her parents' works demanding so - having to constantly get used to different social climates each time had led her to become obsessed with keeping up the best of appearances as to not make enemies and make people like her. Due to this, she lost her childhood innocence and became trapped in isolation, as no one else had ever seen the real her.

She is also constantly worried about her image and seems to have somewhat of low self-esteem, as she uses a façade to hide her insecurities. But when rumors about her being a gyaru (meaning "gal" - basically a trendy and fashionable girl) spread, B-ko expressed uncontrolled anger regarding it, especially when she met A-ya for the first time, whom she instinctively knew had spread the said rumor in the first place.

As she continued to chase after A-ya to scold him for spreading more rumors about her, B-ko soon realized something. Although she never showed any true passion towards anything in her life before, she found out that she, too, has an interest in the occult - despite being the most easily scared out of the four, whenever she hears anything about the occult, she would feel genuine excitement from it, and is also intrigued about the incident that happened ten years ago.

Throughout the series, B-ko becomes increasingly anxious and paranoid as she faces her coming death.

Trivia[]

  • When playing Kokkuri-san, it is revealed that B-ko has someone she likes.[3] Later it is revealed that her crush is A-ya.
  • She is Amino's (the manga artist's) favorite character in the series.[4]
  • She is very sensitive to smells. She dislikes when others' scents are on her, no matter who it's from, as seen with D-ne's shampoo bothering her. She shows discomfort when a scent is too strong, such as when the flowers in the park were overwhelming to her[5] and also reacted to the strong scent of disinfectant in E-ki's hospital room.[6]

Quotes[]
