Perfect Crime Love Letter (Part 1) is the sixth chapter of the Shuuen no Shiori Manga and is the first chapter of the Perfect Crime Love Letter story. This chapter depicts C-ta's perspective on how the Occult Club was formed.

Summary[]

The chapter opens with C-ta reminiscing about his childhood. His family had been friends with A-ya's parents, which forced the two to play together a lot. C-ta had trouble understanding A-ya due to the latter's aloof personality, which gradually caused C-ta to become interested in A-ya's behaviour. He began standing up for A-ya, causing C-ta to feel like a hero. As the two grew older, this grew into C-ta believing that A-ya would be completely helpless without C-ta at his side.

C-ta then recalls an incident from his sixth year of elementary school, when his classmates discovered an old stuffed toy that his parents bought for him at a very young age. As C-ta starts panicking and his classmates start mocking him for owning something "this girly", A-ya covers for him, claiming that the toy was his and that he had left it at C-ta's house by mistake. C-ta then starts worrying over their roles having been reversed and what that had meant for their friendship, until A-ya thanks him "for everything", leading C-ta to reaffirm his beliefs that A-ya was dependent on C-ta. C-ta then gives the toy to A-ya.

As the two enter high school, C-ta reflects on A-ya becoming obsessed with the occult and turning pessimistic in middle school. C-ta himself focuses on maintaining an "intermediate position" in the class, avoiding any enemies. The two would go together to the old school building once or twice a week, and C-ta would listen to A-ya talk about urban legends, up until B-ko follows them in. While C-ta is at first worried about A-ya talking to the most popular girl at the school, he calms down as the Occult Club is formed and D-ne joins in.

One day, C-ta is approached by D-ne, who has come to the club early to talk to him. She calls the two of them "quite alike" and talks about them both being dependent on someone else. C-ta does not take D-ne's words well, and although he doesn't pursue the issue further as the other members walk in, he spends the next few days obsessing over it.

Meanwhile, A-ya finds the diary containing the ritual to summon the Book and Bookmark of Demise, though C-ta is displeased at the fact that A-ya had brought it up with B-ko before him. The club then has a meeting, though C-ta doesn't remember it. The chapter ends on C-ta laying in bed, still concerned with whether or not he is dependent on A-ya.
